They were minor stars in the mid 90's. Lauren Laverne's been the most succesful after they split up - she married the guitarist from Arab Strap, did the vocals on a Mint Royale song ("Don't Falter"), and is an Xfm DJ now!
They were from Sunderland. They weren't half bad, if a bit girly. They had a song called "Punka" which was bloody catchy:

"I wanna be a punka too
When I grow up, if punkas ever do
I wanna be like you
P - U - N - K - A
Punka!"

And there was a really shitty guitar solo pre-empted by a weedy cry of "I play guitar! Like!"

I remember them, can't remember any of their music tho. Lauren Laverne is all over the place nowadays, or at least she was, I haven't seen much of her recently.
