I wrote a reply to this earlier and the computer screwed up. It was something like...
A weird coincidence is that I read something about this song not long ago, about how since Randy Newman's no giant, it's satirising meaningless prejudice. He is a great songwriter ;D
Isn't it weird when you read/hear about something quite obscure... and it suddenly comes up elsewhere?
A while ago I just happened to pick up a copy of Brave New World and read the author's biography in the front. For some reason I noticed that Huxley died in 1963, same as Kennedy. Later that evening, a friend showed me an interview with Marilyn Manson in which Manson was saying that Huxley and Kennedy died on the same day, but he got the year wrong. Weird.
That's an example is just thought of, but that kind of thing happens to me all the time.
