Don't know how interested anyone is in this, but Chalk + I love Red Dwarf (the first 6 series, anyway, hohoho) and, as you may have guessd, the movie is underway!
The TV cast will be taking their old roles (unfortunately, Chloe Annett is playing Kochanski, not CP Grogan)
The script's been written. and I believe they're making models and costumes and stuff, they're ready to begin filming too.

The movie's been in the works for ages, I read about it a couple of years ago, I'm sure. Good to hear it's finally going into production

They've wanted to do a movie for years and years and years. The only reason they bashed out rubbishy series 7 + 8 was because they had to fulfill their contract with the BBC, and the only reason they brought in Chloe Annett was to get producers to give the money cos a "gorgeous girl" would bring in audiences!!!
I'd given up on the movie, but the other day my mum said "CRaig Charles was on TV talkin gabout it" so I went to reddwarf.co.uk and it's all confirmed.
Hmm, I hope it's funny, cos RD definitely went downhill at the end...

i was told about this by some people at greece. they were talking about 'rimmer' and 'lister' and i jumped around, encrossed in converstaion. I practically ignored everyone else. they invited me along to go see it with them. i was very much honoured as have never felt this before. it is indeed a magical thing when you feel you have not been rejected. unfortuantely, this is the only time i can remember when i havent.

I found the script book for Series VIII amongst a load of stuff my brother left behind when he went into the Navy. So what did I spend my Friday night doing? Yes, I read it cover to cover. Remind me again why I have no social life...?

RED DWARF THE MOVIE is set in the distant future where Homo Sapienoids, a fearsome combination of flesh and machine, and the next stage of human evolution, have taken over the solar system and almost wiped out the human race.
The only survivors are the crews of long-haul space freighters that left Earth before the conflict began. The Sapienoids send forth fleets of Death Ships to hunt them down. One by one - the human ships fall, until only one remains.
Filming starts , in Australia, in September, apparently...
