I have to play with a pick becuase it's what I'm used to from guitaring.

Finger-style! Picks aregood for speed, but I never got used to them, plus it's generally agreed that finger-style allows for more hammer-ons and pull-offs. Though sometimes when I'm playing chords I think "I could really do with a pick right now" My friend Sali plays with her thumb because she's self-taught. Surely that combines the restrictions of playing with a pick (ie with one device) with the painful blisters of finger-style...  |

ahh yes, finger style is bestest for tone and such  it depends on your on style though really, picking is good for raw punkness and ultra speed but, yeas, the best bassists always use fingers ! |

I would use my fingers, I can never use a pick, even on a guitar, I just use my nails instead.

I played Peffy's bass the other day with my fingers. I was so proud. I played Buck Rogers cos it's easy. But slow.

I have played bass once in my life. Char taught me how to play Buck Rogers - ultra slow stylee. Thanks to Peffy for letting me use Hunter! I used my fingers and I don't think I was very good  , okay, I know I wasnt very good, but it was fun godammit! This isn't dodgy! Please note this! |

na i play with my fingers coz i always drop my picks! i swear that if i play a gig with a pick i'd be buried up to my knees in picks by the end of the gig!

At the first IoM gig I *did* make my fingers bleed! I got a blister and kept playing through da pain... it filled up with blood and went purple.
