Maybe this was a Yorkshire Television version, or something.

Yes. Example:
"Oh aye, love... Our Phileas, he's goin' round t' world. He is as well! Left down moor this morning. Here, you come in for a cuppa, and I'll tell you all 'bout it."

In a fit of nostalgia, I decided to d/load the Fraggle Rock Theme... It's very good and catchy, with an amazing opening riff.
However, the main lyrics are...
"Work your cares away// Dancing's for another day..." <repeat>
Is it just me who, listening with fresh ears, hears that as being suspiciously like a call from the elite to the working classes, influencing them to concentrate on labour, and leave control to them? Trying to influence young children?
Or am I insanely paranoid? I expect the latter.

Today Charlie and I reminisced about:
RAINBOW We went to see it live once. We had a video and they visited all the colours of the rainbow. I only remember red,, Chalk only remembers green.
PLAYBUS Dave Benson Phillips did big sign language, and had a blue sock puppet. There was a marionette of a black girl who we think was called Lizzy, who had a climbing frame, and sang about Disco Dancing Fish The Tent Stop was my favourite - they'd put on a play. I also loved Dot. Sometimes male, sometimes female, always spooky, Dot was a mime artist of the old skool. He/She'd play the fiddle sometimes. It was all quite goth.

Dave Benson Phillips lived at the end of the same road as my primary school, our classroom was at the front of the school. Everyday he would walk past and wave to us ;D
My bro also used to work with him at a theme park when he went round rollerskating and entertaining people and being his usual madcap self.

My thoughts...
RAINBOW
I've put up another, frankly disturbing, post.
I remember an episode where the adults were fighting over Hob-Nobs.
PLAYBUS
I used to will the bus to stop at the circus tent.
They had a cut-out man with a red and white top. I think he was called Humphery[sp?].
One play had a man who was obsessed with collecting the toys out of corn flakes - product placement? In the end he sold them all. The toys were all way better thatn what you actually get.
I think the marionette was called Lizzy too.
I hated the Peggy Patch stop, too educational for my liking.

I liked the circusey one. The doll thing called Lizzy scared me, she was so blatantly attatched to string - which I found worrying.

Wow, a thread about Willy Fogg escaping my attention all this time!
As far as I remember, Willy Fogg was a lion, his lady friend was a cat from India called something like Romy I believe. His servant, not sure what animal he was, was called Rigadon, and I think the little dude was a mouse called Tiko, but I'm not entirely sure. The bad guy was a wolf or a fox I think, I seem to remember him having an eyepatc, but again I could be wrong. I had the theme tune on my old pc somewhere, I will look for it later at some point.
