As you may or may not know, I'm quite into making mix tapes. This is mainly because changing CDs is a waste of valuable energy. But anyway...]
I am trying to make the ultimate summer mix tape, and need help... what are your favourite songs for summer?
So far, I have...
Eels – ‘Mr E's Beautiful Blues’
Foo Fighters – ‘Big Me’
Ash – ‘Girl From Mars’
Counting Crows – ‘Mr. Jones’
Fun Lovin' Criminals – Either ‘Scooby Snacks’or ‘Up On The Hill’
Incubus – Either ‘A Certain Shade Of Green [Lounge Version]’ or ‘Summer Romance’
The Foundations – ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’
Barenaked Ladies – ‘Some Fantastic' Robert Walter - ‘Luck’
Alanis Morissette – ‘Head Over Feet’
Harvey Danger – ‘Flagpole Sitta’
Weezer – ‘Island In The Sun’
Fountains Of Wayne – ‘Sink To The Bottom’
Everclear – ‘AM Radio’
Third Eye Blind – ‘Semi Charmed Life’
The Chiffons – ‘One Fine Day’
The Beach Boys – ‘Fun, Fun, Fun’
Any suggestions?

I think I need more 60’s stuff. However: Beck – ‘Loser’
LFO – ‘Summer Girls’ - I don’t care. I like it . Ben Folds Five – ‘Where’s Summer B’ or ‘Kate’ – Can’t have a tape without these guys, lol Edwyn Collins – ‘The Magic Piper Of Love’
Alice Cooper – ‘School’s Out [For Summer]’ – since the tape’s for study leave Everclear – ‘Santa Monica’ – Perhaps, instead of AM Radio? Hard decision. Wheatus – ‘A Little Respect’ – Says summer to me, but perhaps that’s just because it was a song I played constantly in Italy last year. Hmmm. I’m gonna need to do some cutting, I feel. And yes, I know I’m replying to myself.

"Our House" was by Madness.
"This Summer" by... I think it was Squeeze "Staying out for the Summer" or "Good Enough" by Dodgy "Just Can't Get Enough" by Depeche Mode (summery electronica!) "Blue (DA Ba Dee)" by Eiffel (some number) Oh, go on! "Mambo Number 5" Lou Bega "Your Woman" by White Town "Nancy Boy" by Placebo
I think some of these songs are before your time, hehehe!

But it’s summery cheese. Van Morrison – Brown Eyed Girl You and Me Song – The Wannadies

If you're putting on a Blink song do "All the Small Things"
How about "Ironic" by Alanis Morisette? "Get Around" by the Beach Boys "Summer Lovin'" from Grease

Yeah, New Radicals!
For the Beach Boys, I thought about Surfin' Safari... but with Wipeout, it could be surfy overkill.
I was going to ask what Blink summer song should go on...
And Summer Lovin':-)

Get "True Faith" by New Order, I love that song.
And some early Depeche Mode would be good, like "I Just Can't Get Enough" or "See You" They're very light and summery.
Something by the Lightning Seeds, like "Marvellous" or "Lucky You"
I love comp tapes. I expect that you won't liek any of the songs I've put in this post, though, I'm just regresing to my childhood!
Oooh - "Jellyhead" by Crush! It's a fantastic crappy pop song! By the two girls from Biker Grove! And "All Gone Away" by Joyrider!
