So, who saw us? I'd like to get some feedback on how everyone though the gig went, what songs were best, etc... I'll start off with a few comments myself.
Though we had some technical (and memory!) problems, we coped alright. We got a lighter salute in Morningstar, which was cool, and some applause after our original material. Slave to the Wage was a great song to end on, and got some of the goths in the crowd singing along.
We got some good feedback from the crowd after we had finshed (our set being cut slightly short - no Blood Red, no Only Surviving, no Why Can't You Do Something Else?) and the sexist comments were pretty minimal.
All in all, it was pretty good, and we got some more comparisons out of the evening! We now sound not only like Jesus and Mary Chain and The Smiths, but Iggy an dthe Stooges and early Sonic Youth! These comparisons get stranger and stranger...

[glow=red,2,300]HEY![/glow], Sorry I haven't written anything about the gig, i think most people just can't be bothered, or are having trouble [glow=red,2,300]REMEMBERING[/glow] us ( you see what alcohol does to you?). Anyway, I'll make a little comment on how it went for me. [glow=red,2,300]1.[/glow]I was really scared. all the bands were very intimidating, and i think thy tried to be, they just glanced at us and sometimes gave us 'you are tiny, i am the all powerful' looks. [glow=red,2,300]2.[/glow]I was pissed off, damn blokes. people were blatantly taking the piss out of us. girls doing music are just renound for being rubbish, so I think they were expecting girl riot or something like the donnas. I wish i was a boy, in a non-iwantasexchange kind of way. [glow=red,2,300]3.[/glow] I just thought, oh, I don't even care. When i was behind my drums, i didn't even feel slightly nervous, besides i was comfortably hidden behind the mass of cymbols. There was about 10 poeple in there at first, but as more poeple arrived, they came in to the hall before anything else, so the numbers went up quite rapidly, although were mostly lingering at the middle of the hall. [glow=red,2,300]4.[/glow]As far as the drum playing went, I think I didnt do too badly,I didnt play really well, but I wasn't in the best frame of mind. I had to adjust to Ed's drums though, being very different to Pandora, but it wasn't a problem. Rob says I play like the drummer from Iggy Pop and the Stooges. The other drummers all sounded the same, by the end all the bands merged into one, but at least we'll be remembered for being girls at least, if not for being crap ( narrow-minded people, just can't understand music past Nirvana). Yes, anyway, the drummers all had a very similar style of playing really fast, with drum rolls inbetween, standard drumming. As I explain it to be the trained voice of drumming. They didn't add anything extra to any of the songs, the drum beats were very similar, they weren't bad at drumming, they were all far better than me, but I am just being critical. I was told that if anything to change about my drumming I could slow it down, but it wasn't necessary, becasue I wasn't racing anyway. I hope you get the gist, I've just been rambling a bit here. And I'm not sure if I spelt necessary correctly.Sorry. For the other guys, I think the gig went okay, but we had some minor mis-haps, such as Charlie having to play the whole set clean, because the blokes were being awkward about amps ( I'm sure she'll explain further if she writes in here), Stef got a blister on her index finger, so some painful bass-playing was going unnoticed throught her bravery! They only had one backing microphone, so only Stef could sing back-ups, Stef bass was unusually quiet, despite her having to change her amp settings in the middle, because they were all traditionl bass players, willing to have their bass's murging into the background more, than being a whole other aspect to the song. Katie was also really really angry, and despite it meant she wasn't nervous, it also meant she wasn't concentrating fully, or puttin as much effort in as normal. Overall though i think it went okay. Nobody was nasty to us, and i was fairly happy with the end result, even though it wasn't perfect, it was an experience and whilst playing, an enjoyable experience. The only thing about these parties is people get drunk and take drugs, I know it's their own choice and that's fair enough, but it makes me really sad. Aswell as the fact I had to spend the rest of the evening running about after my smashed friends worrying that they were okay and having to look after them, most of my friends were stoned. Some things never change. I've got to go now, I don't mean to dictate an opinion on anybody or anything if that's what it sounds like, and I respect their opinion on it, but it just worries me, that's all. [glow=red,2,300]Bye bye[/glow] Love Liz xxxxx

Thank you Lizzie - I was starting to look like a sad old Nobby No-Mates there.
thank you for mentioning about my blister. It might seem like nothing but it KILLED, pepole! Have you ever got through an hours worth of fast-paced music with a huge blood-filled pouh in your finger, eh? (What was that? "Use a pick"? Never!)
Yeah, hopefully next time we can do a proper sound check and get the bass up louder. The bass solo in Ebony kind of flopped because you couldn't bloody well hear me!

I think it went okay. When I was up there I wasn't scared, but I would turn around to jam with liz and turn back and the room would be more full. There were about 90 peeps in there by the end. We got a wall of priests in one song, who then did tiger feet for us. And we got a lighter salute. I couldn't understand Tom's effects box so I had to play straight from the amp which was clean and made our songs sound a bit quiet. Apart from that it went ok. Oh, I did the guitar in Ashphixiate wrong. And I kept going wrong in 'Fade AWay'. Nevermind.

[glow=red,2,300]WELL, wanna know my opinion?..... [/glow][glow=blue,2,300]I thought you were all brilliant, I know I'm biast, but who cares? It takes a lot of guts to stand up in front of a crowd of people - of who the majority are complete strangers/people you hate AND play all your own material, I was really proud of you.[/glow]
