There's customising in the sense of replacing pick ups and fattening your head... and then there're girly customisations ie putting on glitter and shit.
I am girly.
I decorated Hunter and he looks very cool. He has a "No Smoking" sticker under the pick ups (I got ones for Liz + Chalk too) and lots of black dots on the scratchplate. He looks very sexy now. He's a drug free dalmation.
And I may as well tell you about Jam. Jam has had two looks in her time. She used to be covered with wilver shiny stars + spikes on her body with blue stars + splats on the scrtchplate, with a little blue sparkly heart by the input and a RED STAR on the head, and on the back of the nexk was a green hand sticker and 3 RED STARS in a row. Then I got bored, and ripped most of it off. I covered up the "Encore" name with black stickiness and spelt out "KILL ALL GODS" with some graffiti-style stickers (I was being creative with the few letters I had lying around). I put "Heaven is Dead" by the neck, and "Let's Kill the Trendy." Then I surrounded the scratchplate with green + silver arrows pointing towards the pick ups in a "Play Over Here" way, and dotted some red stars around. I was feeling most anarcho-punk-atheist at the time, mwahaha.
Still dig the badges for my bass strap, though. I'd love an AFI badges to sit neatly next tto the Placebo badge Liz bought me.

I have plans to customise my older guitar during the summer... I'm going to take all the strings, etc. off, cover the important non-removable bits with something like tape, and do something good with car paint. I have no expertise in this area, lol, i'm just gonna go for it.

I do both - girly and boyy (is that spelt right) My guitar is pretty crap but I think it's pointless to shell out for a new, expensive, trendy guitar - it shouldn't be about labels, which is why mine's covered with stickers. Anyway.... I have to take her apart regularily due to her crappiness and I'm gonna get some new wires because they keep breaking inside and it's pissing me off too much now.

I covered my old guitar in pretty much any stickers I had lying about, it looks pretty awful but then i hardly ever play, it just sits in my room propped up against the wall, it has a big sticker saying BOYBAND on it which i thought was the epitome of irony at the time, and i rearranged a God Hates Us All sticker into All Dogs Hate Us which was I particularly impressed with, but thats about as exciting as it gets.
As for my drumkit, no customisation as yet, I have a little clamp-on monkey on the top of my hi-hat and I thought about adding an old cd-rack as an interesting piece of percussion, but otherwise, they are too precious to me to be irreversibly painting/sticking/whatever

I do semi-bloeky stuff too... Always carry a little spanner with me to tighten up the input, and a screwdriver for the bolt that holds the strap in!
It's interesting when you open up a guitar... It's so simple in there.

I had to become accustomed with the inside of my guitar the first day i got it:-(
It is surprisingly simple.
