OK everyone... a fun game for the whole family. [glow=red,2,300]What would be your dream band? [/glow] Rules [to rein you in]:-5 members [vocals/guitar/bass/drums/a fifth instrument of your choice]. More than one member can sing, if you so wish. -None of the band members can have played together in a 'real' band... no putting all of AFI or whoever in -Give them a name and a music genre. Add any other details you want. For example; Who writes the songs? What songs could they cover? Let your imaginations run wild...

Am I allowed to bring people back from the dead?
Vocals : Davey Havok
Guitar : Brian Molko
Second Guitar : Robert Smith
Bass : Me
Drums: Jon Lee
We'd play strange spiky indie songs, with lots of "woahs" going on, hehe. Our songs would just be big old epic indie alt-rock with 80s style new wave sound to it. We'd have to cover "True Faith" by New Order.
We'd be called... Five Imaginary Eyelashes

vocals: Toby Slater - Toby Slater Band guitar: Som Wardner - My Vitriol bass: Taka Hirose - Feeder drums: Taylor Hawkins - Foo Fighters and extra insturment would be: Mylene from Hear'Say on Harp. Her harp solo's rule!
They're the super new group called 'Hear Toby Fight Vitriol'. There music is a mixture of rock indie and harp. Here's an interview:
So how did you guys get together? TS: It was all my idea. Me! Taylor H: Fuck knows. I was high. SW:Ha Ha. Same here brother. MK:I was playing harp in Brian Molko's (Som's lover and past-it guitarist from that crappy band...Placeebee) DJ set in Camden when I met Som. SW: Oh yes that's right. I said "Wow. She's great. I could make some interesting music with a harpist." But then Brian hit me lots so I shut up. TS: Let me speak! I was at the club and I was admiring Brian's DJ techniques when this God damn huge Harp was put in my feild of vision. I was going to protest or sue someone for damages. But when she started playing I was blown away. Well, I'm sure I'd be better at harp if I took it up, but ya know, she was good. SW: Then we met up and spoke between the harp strings. TS: Then we found Taylor high in the corner and dragged him along. TaylorH: Ho hum. That was such fun.
And Taka. How did you get involed? TakaH: I.... TS: We needed a bass player. Work it out dumbass. I'm too pretty for interviews. I'm going. TaylorH: Yeah I need some weed. Bye. SW: If I don't get back by 8 Brian will hit me and send me into the cuboard. I don't like it in there. It's dark and reminds me of Sri Lanka. MK: Yeah, actually I have some biatch slapping to do. Bye.
Taka leaves silently. 'Hear Toby Fight Vitriol''s cover of Bohemian Rhapsody will be released next month.

*lmao@Peff and Charlies combos* I think this is a fun game that could catch on... One for the IOM tour bus? Anyway... my contribution to the madness: Introducing... The Subterranean Freeways Alanis Morissette on vocals, bringing *Female Angst* and general pain to the songs. Has great *dark brown* hair. Ben Folds on piano, beating the shit out of that thing. Animal [from 'The Muppet Show'] on drums. Surely the greatest and most under-rated musician of the 20th century. On guitar, a double-act... John Lennon and Yoko Ono [they qualify as one]. Yoko sings in her charming, Japanese way. [I've just realised the Alanis and Yoko have *very* similar voices. And hair. Just something to think about...] On bass... 'Weird' Al Yankovic, also playing the accordian and the flugelhorn, and bringing his unique comic touch to every song. [I'm not sure he plays bass, but I like his name.] This unusual combo play an unconventional combination of polka, country and western and latin rock. They will be covering, um... Shakira, 'Whenever, Wherever'.

Ok, I've been working on The Ultimate Punk Band
Vocals - Jake Burns Guitar - Brett Gurewitz Bass - Paul Simonon Drums - Rat Scabies Second Bass - Sid Vicious*
*Bands with 2 bass players sound crap, but Sid is so awful at playing his amp is always turned off anyway. He's just there to look good.
They're called "The Melting Brain Cells"
(I originally put Feargal Sharkey in as the singer, but then I thought his voice wouldn't handle it. I also (bizarrely) had problems coming up with a decent guitarist who'd fit in... Mr. Brett was my third attempt, and he works, I think)
They'd play nice Spirit of 76 punk... without any of that reggae tinge, mind you.

And then I was struck with more inspiration...
The Ultimate Pretty Rock Nu-Metal Boy Band
Vocals - Brandon Boyd Guitar - Lee Gaze Bass- Mark Hoppus Drums - Joey Jordison DJ - Brian Molko
They ensare the mini-metallers, as well as indie kids and punxxx, and a small gawwwth following.
Brian writes all the songs in his bedroom, teaches them to the othe rmembers, who then ignore him and write their own stuff. After a big bitch fight they decide to cover "Run to the Hills," which gets to number 15.
Then they split up.
Charlie has pointed out that they don't exactly fill the criteria of "The Ultimate Pretty Rock Nu-Metal Boy Band," as Mark Hoppus isn't nu-metal, and Brian is too old!
Well, what can I say, I'm just not up with the scene!

Ok, I am now going to say my DREAM band, the band that I, myself, would play in if the universe centred on my head. (No offense to the IoM gals, of course!)
So, to start, I am on bass. It's a lovely black Fender Jazz Bass, or maybe a Fender Precision, with a black scratchboard and custom plated blue strings (Using my chemistry knowledge, they'd either plate them with lead or copper, so this will be a seriously toxic instrument! I'll make sure I wear gloves) On guitar is the mighty Jade Errol Puget. He has a gorgeous Gibson SG, also black with black scratchboard, and a dotted fretboard, thank you so very much, inlayed with some design, I'm sure. On drums is the master Steve Hewitt on a fuck-off huge kit. I'm not too up with drum makes, but it's impressive, that's for sure. He has a shedload of multi-tuned cymbals above his head. *Peff sighs as she imagines playing music with Steve. Surely every bass player's dream...* On vocals... I've already ruled out Brian and Davey from this one... Greg Graffin. That guy has a seriously cool voice, equally at home with sarcasm, sweetness and swearing. Perfect. Now, I know I get a fifth member... And I suppose I should have a girl... Oh, why should I? I can be the only girl, that's Ok. Girl on bass is stereotypical, but there ya go.
And we'd play all my favourite songs, and we'd play all over England. All our shows would be cheap and all ages, and we'd have great support acts. The Smashing Pumpkins would reform to support us! Hahaha!
...Maybe Matt Bellamy could guest on keyboards...

Charlie put it on the My Vitriol board... But they're all pot heads who only get excited when Som gets pissed enough to post... So the fun was lost on them.
I'm loving it
But my choices have been fairly unimaginitive so far, I'm sorry to say.

Okay for my fantasy band I was going to create one with ‘Jon’s , but I got as far as Jon Lee ( :’( ), Jon Foreman (from Switchfoot) and Jon Thatcher (delirious?) and then I suppose I could have S Club Jon Lee as well and call him ‘the weird one who does freakish dancing and you’re not really sure how he ended up there’. But as Jon Lee Feeder has moved on to a better place and I couldn’t think of another Jon, I gave up on that one and thought a little harder….. ….and felt my brain implode anyway I guess my fantasy band would be…..erm…. · Matt Belamy (Muse) ………….main vocals and piano (and guitar) just because you can’t deny that guy has the coolest voice, great musical talent and looks good too! J hmmmmmmmmmmmm……………dammit all the people I keep thinking of all do main vocals and play either bass or guitar……drummers……….hahaha I could do a perm band! Nevermind. mental bloke…….no I mean block. gah! dddoooooooobeeeeeeeeeddoooooo……………... I KNOW!! · Wuv (POD)…………drums (and maybe backing vocals) because he has a cool name, he has good drumming skills and he fits the band better than my first thought (which was Stuart ex-Dum) bassists……..that reminds me saw a pic of Robbie Williams the other day, he had badger hair (ie Steve Clarke’s old hairstyle) · Jon Thatcher (D:?)…………bass because he does a mean Elvis impression, he’d add some calm to the band, and he plays bass very well. guitarists……….. · Joshua Doyle – The Wolverine (dums)……………….guitar and vocals because he is an exhibitionist, creative, stupid, has extraordinary guitar skills (look I think playing guitar while hanging upside-down from stage rigging requires skill of somekind!) and he would fit the band well, providing a link between Matt, Jon and Wuv. And finally………..we have……Damon albarn and Jamie Whathisname (like Lennon and Ono they count as one) on another side project, Albarn is the ‘part-timer’ who comes up with the wacky promo videos while seeming to live permanently 2 feet above the ground. His recessive other half adds ‘animation’ to the band. The band would be called: [glow=red,2,300]The Split Exhibitionist[/glow]………..because they are all exhibitionists who have split personalities (the exception to this being possibly Wuv) Interviews would be rare for this indie, metal semi-Christian combo partly due to their national recognition (or rather lack of it as Jon and Josh (and Wuv and Matt to some extent) have never gained recognition in their real bands) and partly because they manage to scare potential interviewers on a regular basis. The band would be constantly slated by the conforming arseholes of the music press (I’ll stop slagging the music press off now, I might be part of it one day….) Belamy and Doyle would write the material with Albarn adding on occasions to keep himself in the band. After being together 18 months, Albarn/Hewitt would be kicked out by the other members. Cupid would be recruited to “squirt poison” in the band’s “bloodstream”, giving Belamy and Doyle’s songs that extra pernash (?). the band would decide to replace Albarn with Paul (ex – S Club) following his successful( ??) musical career change. By some bizarre twist of fate Paul becomes what the band needs to launch them into superstardom. After 8 years the band will record demos for their sixth album, promising to be their best. Months later, before the 6th album’s release, Doyle announces the bands impending split, having not consulted Jon or Wuv (cynical? moi? surely not!) the 6th album floats in nothingness and fans whine until the website and msg board are shut down never to be accessed again. I guess they would cover ‘Tainted Love’ although they all love the Soft Cell version. I dunno what do you think they’d cover???

Vocals, Chad Guitar 1, Heath Guitar 2, Terry Bass, Meghan Drummer, Damon I love all these ppl in a very special way (yes that does include Meggy ) They would play Hard Core Death, Thrash Meatal. Think about it, how amusing would that be!! Chad can scream (listen 2 Shai Hulud's album called Hearts Once Nurised With Hope And Compassion) Heath loves metal bands, Terry has the right look, Meg's just a very sex bitch and well Damon can go nuts on a drum kit, believe me i have seen.
