www.livejournal.com/users/sepiawww.livejournal.com/users/disinfected/I dunno how many of you tend to read these things but I always get drawn into them every once in while. I am posting these two here cos they seem to have a weird effect on me, I can't really describe it, but they tend to depress me. The way they are written, sometimes I find it pretentious and it makes me angry, and sometimes I read them and it makes me sad that I will never be as deep or as articulate or as important as them, and that I will never encounter people as interesting or as evocative as them. So I just wondered if they had a similar effect on anyone else

members.diaryland.com/edit/view.phtml?user=playtapeThis is the only diary I have followed. For some reason I got drawn in. I think it's because he writes things simplistically. I mean, there are a lot of people who can write eloquently, but I've always admired those who can express themselves clearly without hiding behind their vocabulary or trying to impress people by exaggerating their outcast status. A lot of people seem to think they're the only ones who ever feel the way they do. Come on, that's not true.

The thing with online diaries is they encourage introspection and wallowing in self-pity. I tried writing one once, and I just sounded like I was about to slit my wrists.

I started reading some of the Livejournals after you said about them...
I read a quote somewhere that went something like,
"We should be glad these people write LiveJournals... keeps them off the streets and away from us."

Yeh, I have read yours actually, it's how I found u guys in the first place. It was a tad bleak, but I think the other side to these things is that other people can relate to whats being said. I started my own, but it's terrible. My life is so non-eventful I just end up writing about the world cup every goddamn day

Unfortunately my writing of the diary coincided with a huge plummet in happiness levels, and I couldn't get out of bed for a week, and as I was writing one entry a day it all got squooshed in there and just made me feel worse. It's nice to think someone actually read it, though. I abandoned it for a while, but I might pick it up again, and it'll be bit better this time around, I hope.

Peffy has a T-shirt that says 'Do I Care' on it, and on the back lists the kinda people you just mention. The rich ones, who have oh so many problems.
