We are nowhere near as cliquey as the MV board. For example, it's not as if as soon as Noony starts a thread we all go "Noony's started a thread! If I post in it he might notice me and he's cool!" and it's also not as if as soon as Steveadh says something we totally ignore him. (Well, I hope we don't, Steve)
We're a very small community at the moment, so it's easy to break into. If you post a fair amount we get to know your personality, and can respond to your posts in a friendlier and more personal way.
